WHAT IS GREEN CERTIFIED?

Green Certified construction aims to increase environmental and health performance of residences by adhering to the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard. This certification goes well beyond saying a home is energy efficient; it provides independent, third-party verification that a home, apartment building, or land development is designed and built to achieve high performance in six key areas: Site Design, Resource Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Building Operation & Maintenance. This standard is recommended by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for those seeking to build environmentally conscious homes.
Homes seeking to be ICC 700 certified are independently inspected by Home Innovation Research Labs. For more information on Green Certified construction, click here.
